1) Hope and Joy: Please join us on Saturday, December 13th from 7 - 8:30pm for our annual “Christmas Storytime with Father Nikiforos” free event and Treasure Hunt game. New Year’s Celebration, December 31st from 10 am – 12 noon. Drop off event.

2) GREEK HERITAGE ISLANDERS GAME for the NY Islanders / Vancouver Canucks home game on Friday, December 19th at 7pm at UBS.

3) GOYA, Friday, December 12th at 7:30 pm.

3) Rev. Nikiforos Fakinos Hellenic School Bake Sale, Sunday, December 7th after the service.

4) Pet Photos with Santa, Friday, December 12th, 2025, from 3 – 5 pm, at the Courtyard by the Chapel.

5) Philoptochos Bake Sale, Sunday, December 21st after the service. Philoptochos is also taking orders for Vasilopita pies; please, contact Sophia Pappas or Eleni Frasiolas.

THE CHURCH

The Greek Orthodox Community of Saint Demetrios in Merrick, New York was founded in 1961. On December 1959, under the guidance of the late James (Demetrios) Boulukos a meeting took place with the intention to establish a parish in the South Shore of Long Island.
